UW–Madison’s Center for Research on College to Workforce Transitions (CCWT), housed in the School of Education’s Wisconsin Center for Education Research, is hosting a blog series to celebrate Women’s History Month.

The series aims to draw attention to the myriad of gender equity issues women face that have been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. These issues, writes CCWT Associate Researcher Bailey Smolarek in an introduction to the series, “range from wage gaps in internships, to birth control access, to the experiences of women of color on college campuses.” Smolarek, who created the series, earned her PhD in 2016 from the School of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction specializing in language and education, education policy studies, and qualitative research.
The first post in the series is by Elizabeth Scheer, who recently completed her PhD in English at UW–Madison, and is titled, “‘Break the Old Circuits’: Revising the Patriarchy During the Pandemic.”
Six additional posts by scholars at UW–Madison will be shared in the coming weeks. Read all of the posts as they are released, here.
