A research study that is co-led by UW–Madison’s Jung-hye Shin, Kevin Ponto, and Beth Fields focusing on the development of a novel home assessment tool to aid in modifying homes for people with disabilities has been awarded a grant from RRF Foundation for Aging.

Like thousands of other Summer Term courses offered in 2020, Theatre 200 Acting Skills for Life was unexpectedly transitioned to an online format. For Clare Haden, a lecturer in the School of Education's Department of Theatre and Drama who was hired to teach four sections of the course, it posed an interesting challenge.

Students in the Summer Education Research Program (SERP) will present their culminating research presentations on Thursday, July 29, via Zoom. SERP is a 10-week summer research opportunity, sponsored by the UW–Madison School of Education and Graduate School, that provides traditionally underrepresented undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in independent research.

UW–Madison’s John Diamond wrote a critical reflection of a new report from the William T. Grant Foundation focused on research-practice partnerships (RPP) in education. Diamond is the Kellner Family Distinguished Chair in Urban Education in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

UW–Madison’s Daniella Molle and Weiqiong Huang have published a new paper in Science Education International, titled “Bridging Science and Language Development Through Interdisciplinary and Interorganizational Collaboration: What Does It Take?” Molle and Huang are researchers at WIDA, housed in the School of Education’s Wisconsin Center for Education Research.

They are Moisés Gabriel Contreras (Educational Policy Studies), Morgan Mayer-Jochimsen (Educational Policy Studies), Rachel Santiago (WCER), Emily Skaletski (Kinesiology), and Peter Wardrip (Curriculum and Instruction).

UW–Madison alumna Barbara Gruener (BSE 1984) is the author of a new children’s book, titled “Mr. Quigley’s Keys,” which brings to life the heartwarming story of an unsung hero.
