Madison Education Partnership accepting proposals for 2020-21

The Madison Education Partnership (MEP), a research-practice partnership between the School of Education's Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER) and the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), has posted its latest request for proposals for sponsored work funding for 2020-21.

Art Department hosting free public lectures on Wednesdays this fall

The UW–Madison School of Education’s Art Department is hosting a weekly series of free public lectures by some of the nation’s most prominent artists, critics, and gallery and museum directors. Lectures in the Fall 2020 Visiting Artist Colloquium Series take place every Wednesday during the academic year, from 5 to 6:15 p.m., online via Blackboard Collaborate.

Jennings to speak Oct. 23 as part of Indigenous Speakers’ Series

The School of Education’s Department of Educational Policy Studies is hosting Sasanehsah Jennings for a talk as part of its Indigenous Speakers’ Series. The talk, which is titled “Education as a Tool of Colonization: Reflections of the Native Student Experience in Higher Education,” will take place on Friday, Oct. 23, from 12 to 1 p.m., via Zoom.

UW–Madison to host Byrd-McPhee as the fall 2020 Division of the Arts interdisciplinary artist

The UW–Madison Division of the Arts welcomes Michele Byrd-McPhee as the fall 2020 interdisciplinary artist. Michele Byrd-McPhee is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, producer, curator, and director of Ladies of Hip-Hop. The Fall 2020 Interdisciplinary Arts Residency Program is presented by the UW–Madison Division of the Arts and hosted by the School of Education's Dance Department with Assistant Professor Duane Lee Holland, Jr. as lead faculty.
