UW–Madison’s Dane B. Cook, a professor in the School of Education’s Department of Kinesiology, has been selected to receive a 2025 Mary Frances Early College of Education Alumni Award from the University of Georgia.

Cook will be recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Researcher Award, which honors a graduate of the college who has demonstrated success in a research field. The award is given to alumni who earned a degree from the College of Education 25 or more years ago and who are recognized for their contributions to research.
Cook was nominated by Patrick O’Connor, a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia. The alumni awards are coordinated by the Mary Frances Early College of Education at the University of Georgia, which has more than 60,000 living alumni.
In addition to his faculty role in the School of Education, Cook conducts research through the Research Service at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.
The awards ceremony took place on Friday, April 4, at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education in Athens, Georgia.
