UW–Madison’s Kate Vieira is receiving a 2021 Advancement of Knowledge Award from the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC).
Vieira is a professor and the Susan J. Cellmer Distinguished Chair in Literacy in the School of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
The award honors an empirical research publication in the previous two years that most advances writing studies.
Viera received the award for her book, “Writing for Love and Money: How Migration Drives Literacy Learning in Transnational Families,” published in 2019 by Oxford University Press.
Vieira will be announced as a recipient of the CCCC Advancement of Knowledge Award during the 2021 CCCC Awards presentation this spring.
