School of Education recognizes 2022 faculty and staff award winners

The UW–Madison School of Education recognized some of its most outstanding individuals with Faculty and Staff Distinguished Achievement Awards during a reception and short ceremony on Thursday, April 14. This year’s event also included recognition of the inaugural recipients of the School of Education’s Impact 2030 Staff Innovation Awards.

Work of UW–Madison’s Burayidi, Winston picked for ACDA’s Screendance Festival Gala Concert on April 2

The work of UW–Madison undergraduate students Aki Burayidi and Rakhi Winston was selected by an adjudication panel to be performed at the American College Dance Association’s Screendance Festival Gala Concert on Saturday, April 2. Burayidi and Winston, who are undergraduates with the School of Education’s Dance Department, are having their work, “Between Us” showcased.

Dance Department announces new directorship in dance education

The UW–Madison Dance Department, housed in the School of Education, announces the creation of the Arnhold Directorship in Dance Education, a position made possible by a transformational gift from dance advocate, educator, and founder of the Dance Education Laboratory Jody Gottfried Arnhold (BA 1965) and her husband John Arnhold that was matched by the School of Education’s Impact 2030 initiative.

UW–Madison faculty collaborate for performance of ‘Here Lies the Truth’ March 25-26

Li Chiao-Ping Dance (LCPD) proudly presents "Here Lies the Truth" March 25-26 at the Overture Center for the Arts. This work of multidisciplinary dance theater is an exciting mixed-media collaboration between visual artist Douglas Rosenberg, a professor in the Art Department; sound designer/composer Tim Russell, a faculty member in the Dance Department; dramaturg Cláudia Tatinge Nascimento; and choreographer Li Chiao-Ping, the Sally Banes Professor of Dance and a Vilas Research Professor in the Dance Department.
