Work of UW–Madison’s Burayidi, Winston picked for ACDA’s Screendance Festival Gala Concert on April 2

The work of UW–Madison undergraduate students Aki Burayidi and Rakhi Winston was selected by an adjudication panel to be performed at the American College Dance Association’s Screendance Festival Gala Concert on Saturday, April 2. Burayidi and Winston, who are undergraduates with the School of Education’s Dance Department, are having their work, “Between Us” showcased.

‘Dream House’ exhibition by MFA student Katelyn St. John on view at Tandem Press

Tandem Press is hosting “Dream House,” a master of fine arts thesis exhibition by UW–Madison student Katelyn St. John, who is a Tandem Press project assistant. St. John’s work depicts her exploration of abandoned architecture. This exhibition features prints that delve into the visual representation of the space between experience and memory. 

Inaugural Arts Crawl at UW–Madison starts March 31

UW–Madison School of Education again in top 5 of U.S. News rankings

UW–Madison’s School of Education is also the only one in the nation to have a top-10 ranking in all nine education specialty areas — including the No. 1 Educational Psychology program.

UW–Madison hosting Midwest Filipino American Summit April 2

The UW-Madison Filipinx American Student Organization (FASO) is playing a leading role in hosting the first post-pandemic Midwest Filipino American Summit (MFAS), which is being held on campus April 2, with more than 400 Filipinx students from seven states expected to attend. FASO’s eight executive board members are doing most of the planning for this year’s event — and three of these leaders are current undergraduate students with the School of Education.

UW–Madison’s Fico is awarded Alzheimer’s Association research fellowship

UW–Madison’s Brandon Fico has been awarded a three-year research fellowship from the Alzheimer’s Association for his project entitled, “Arterial Stiffness and Cerebral Hemodynamics Impact on Alzheimer’s Disease.” Fico is a postdoctoral fellow in the Bruno Balke Biodynamics Laboratory in the School of Education’s Department of Kinesiology.
