The Li Chiao-Ping Dance Company will perform a work choreographed by UW–Madison’s Li Chiao-Ping for the fifth annual SoloDuo Virtual Dance Festival presented by White Wave Dance, on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. (Central time). The work will be part of the first of three festival programs that will take place between Nov. 13 and 15.

Li is a Vilas Research Professor with the School of Education’s Dance Department.
Li’s work, titled “here n o w here,” interrogates identity from multiple perspectives. Performed by Alfonso Cervera and Piper Morgan Hayes, the dancers’ fluid motions, spoken text, and physical entanglements work in concert with ideas of how we are shaped — who we are, are told we are, think we are, and know we are.
The SoloDuo Virtual Dance Festival will feature 29 national and international dancemakers, selected by a panel of distinguished presenters and dance artists in New York City.
