Recently, several students from the UW–Madison Department of Theatre and Drama, housed in the School of Education, participated in the Region 3 American College Theatre Festival, representing Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Western Ohio.
The festival was held Jan. 6–10 at Madison College and featured performances in venues throughout the community, including UW–Madison’s Mitchell and Hemsley Theatres in Vilas Hall.

Among the participants, Amelie Rosenhagen received the Selector’s Comedy Award, and Ava Childs was named a semi-finalist.
Additionally, Rachel Reichard was named a finalist for the Stage Directors and Choreographers National Student Directing Fellowship award for her direction a scene from “Lungs” by Duncan McMillan, performed by Amelia Eichmeier and Christian Carter.
Cast members from University Theatre’s fall production of “Little Women” participated in the Festival Costume Parade, celebrating the artistry and dedication of the costume department, student workers, wardrobe teams, and acting ensemble who brought these designs to life.
