BIOS Leadership and Coaching Symposium returns June 23 at Camp Randall Stadium

The fifth annual BIOS Leadership and Coaching Symposium will take place Tuesday, June 23, at Camp Randall Stadium, bringing together coaches and leaders from across Wisconsin and beyond for a day of learning, connection, and professional growth.

The symposium will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers with experience spanning athletics, higher education, and organizational leadership:

  • Alec Ingold, fullback for the Los Angeles Chargers and former Wisconsin Badger, will share insights on leadership, culture, and what it means to serve as captain at the highest level of professional football.
  • Mark Johnson, legendary head coach of the UW women’s hockey team, brings a legacy of excellence, having led the Badgers to eight national championships — including the 2026 title — and earning recognition as one of the most accomplished coaches in the history of collegiate athletics.
  • Turina Bakken, provost, emerita, and former executive vice president of academic affairs at Madison College, will serve as keynote speaker. With more than two decades of leadership in higher education, Bakken is a nationally recognized educator and strategist and is known for her authentic leadership style and commitment to inspiring transformation through meaningful human connection.
  • Omar Brown, senior vice president of community and impact for the Big Ten Conference, brings deep experience in culture, diversity, leadership, and civic engagement. He will discuss advancing student-athlete engagement, leadership development, and community impact through innovative initiatives and transformative educational experiences.

In addition to featured presentations, this year’s symposium will include dedicated workshop time, giving participants the opportunity to collaborate, reflect, and apply key concepts alongside colleagues. Attendees are encouraged to register with fellow coaches, with group rates available for teams of three or more.

Registration is open through Tuesday, June 9.
