Meg Medina will deliver the Cooperative Children’s Book Center’s 2024 Charlotte Zolotow Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m., at Tripp Commons in the Memorial Union on the UW–Madison campus.

Medina is a Newbery and Pura Belpré award-winning author and the 2023-24 National Ambassador of Young People’s Literature. Her picture books, as well as middle grade and young adult fiction, have been called “heartbreaking,” “lyrical” and “must haves for every collection.”
Medina’s lecture, titled “Writing the Truth in Contentious Times,” is free and open to the public.
PBS Wisconsin will livestream and record the lecture. Registration is required for both in-person and virtual attendance.
This free public lecture is sponsored by the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) and the Friends of the CCBC, Inc., and is part of the Wisconsin Book Festival.
