Tandem Press announces Friday Jazz Series starting Oct. 21


Tandem Press announces its annual Friday Jazz Series featuring students from the UW–Madison Mead Witter School of Music’s Jazz Studies Program, led by Johannes Wallmann, the John and Carolyn Peterson Chair in Jazz Studies, along with Emma Dayhuff, Chad McCullough, Nick Moran, and Les Thimmig.

Tandem Press Friday Jazz SeriesThe 2022-2023 series, beginning on Oct. 21, includes three concerts during the fall season and three in the spring. Come enjoy some great jazz music, learn about Tandem Press and the exciting field of fine art printmaking, and see the current the exhibition hanging in the Tandem Press Apex Gallery.

Currently on view through Oct. 28 in the Apex Gallery is “Enigma: The Prints of David Lynch,” which presents a selection of prints that the artist, musician, and filmmaker created at Tandem Press between 1998 and 2021. Read more about the exhibit in this Capital Times article.

Tandem Press is an important educational entity affiliated alongside the Art Department within the UW–Madison School of Education. Students employed at Tandem Press complement their coursework with practical hands-on experience, gaining an unparalleled insight into the professional art world by working as assistants to the Tandem Press collaborative printers and curators in the production and promotion of fine art prints created by leading contemporary artists. Tandem Press also partners with other departments at the university and organizations throughout Wisconsin to offer tours, printmaking workshops, and other special events that serve artists, students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
