UW–Madison’s Nardi elected to ATypl board of directors

Last month, UW–Madison’s Henrique Nardi was elected to the board of directors of ATypI, the International Typography Association, for a three-year term.

Nardi

Nardi is a graphic design lecturer in the School of Education’s Art Department, specializing in graphic design, photography, and typography. He is originally from São Paulo, Brazil, where in 2003 he started a successful educational project to promote typographic culture, called Tipocracia.

Founded in 1957, ATypI is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, debating, and promoting typography and type design.

Board members come from all over the world to help further the ATypI mission and elevate their communities. They are chosen because of their passion for the community, dedication to ATypl, and drive to continue meaningful contribution to the association.

In 2015, Nardi served as chair member of the organizing committee for ATypI’s annual conference in São Paulo, Brazil. This year, ATypI’s 66th annual conference will take place in Paris, France. The event will feature a program of presentations, panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, tours, demos, exhibitions, type walks, discussions, and opportunities for networking and socializing.
