The School of Education’s Maria Widmer has been honored with a Robert J. Menges Award for Outstanding Research in Educational Development from the POD Network, with Karen Skibba, Department of Continuing Studies.

Widmer is an instructional designer with MERIT (media, education resources, and information technology) and a doctoral student in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
The Menges Award honors sessions by POD Network members that focus on original, transformative research characterized by rigorous, systematic investigation and evidence-based conclusions.
Widmer and Skibba received the Menges Award for the research presented in their upcoming chapter in “Blended Learning Research Perspectives, Vol. 3,” in a session that is titled, “Faculty Community of Inquiry Transforms Online Teaching Perceptions and Practices.”
