UW–Madison’s Lent, Kallio earn 2021 awards from AERA’s Division A


UW–Madison student Sarah Lent and alumna Julie Kallio are both receiving 2021 awards from Division A (Administration, Organization, and Leadership) of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).

Lent is a PhD student in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA). She is one of four recipients of Division A’s Foster-Polite Scholarship, a $500 award for recognizing scholarly excellence in educational administration, school leadership, or related fields.

Kallio earned an Honorable Mention for Division A’s Outstanding Dissertation Award, for her dissertation that is titled, “Solving Problems Together: Findings from the Early Stages of a Networked Improvement Community.”

Kallio graduated with her PhD from ELPA in 2020, and is currently an innovation specialist at The Breck School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
