Latimer is a successful heart surgeon. When his much younger girlfriend, Nina, unexpectedly gets pregnant, Latimer must break the news to his grown daughter, who is struggling to start a family of her own.
Forward Theater Company’s upcoming world premiere of “The Mytilenean Debate,” by Quan Barry, is directed by UW–Madison’s Mark H., an assistant professor in the School of Education’s Department of Theatre and Drama.
Barry, a poet, award-winning author, and UW–Madison’s Lorraine Hansberry Professor of English, is Forward Theater Company’s 2021-2022 writer in residence. Her play “The Mytilenean Debate” raises questions about race, legacy, and the issues couples face as they navigate the world, both together and as individuals.
