UW–Madison’s Rachelle Winkle-Wagner, a professor in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, has been selected to receive the Mentoring Award from the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE).

The award recognizes ASHE members who have made extraordinary, sustained contributions to the professional and scholarly development of emerging scholars in the field of higher education.
In announcing the honor, ASHE highlighted Winkle-Wagner’s deep and lasting impact as a mentor:
“Winkle-Wagner’s mentorship has shaped the careers of graduate students and emerging scholars of color across institutions. Her research examines access and success in higher education, centering multicultural perspectives and critical theories. She has authored more than 60 publications, frequently collaborates with graduate students, and uses professional networks to connect mentees with senior scholars.
