A team of faculty in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Psychology recently partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to develop free online training modules for school psychologists, school counselors, and school social workers.
Faculty from the school psychology program — Clinical Professor Kristy Kelly, Assistant Clinical Professor Elizabeth Hagermoser-Bayley, and Professor Jenny Asmus — collaborated with DPI to create the Pupil Services Field Supervision and Mentoring Modules, which are now available on the DPI website.

The modules were funded by the Federal School-Based Mental Health Professionals Grant and were developed through a collaborative process involving key stakeholders from school counseling, school psychology, and school social work. They are designed to provide introductory training for educators who supervise or mentor individuals in each profession. Each module includes information, profession-specific resources, practical exercises, and reflection activities.
The school psychology faculty team hopes the resource will support field supervisors statewide and strengthen Wisconsin’s school mental health workforce.
