School of Education graduate receives Ginsberg Family Award


Rathika Murali, who graduated in May 2026 from the School of Education, has received a 2026 Ginsberg Family Award from UW–Madison Student Affairs.

The Ginsberg Family Awards recognize graduating seniors for leadership, service, and scholarship at UW–Madison. Recipients receive a plaque and a $1,500 scholarship.

According to Student Affairs, 25 students were recognized with the award this year at a reception attended by family and friends. The program honors students whose work has shaped the UW–Madison experience through leadership, advocacy, research, and community engagement.

Murali majored in health promotion and health equity and earned certificates in health policy and social justice education. She was active in multiple student organizations and is driven by an interest in community engagement and public health. She plans to pursue a Master of Public Health and has a long-term goal of advancing health equity in the United States.
