Hernandez to interview Excelencia in Education CEO Santiago for Nov. 11 webinar


UW–Madison’s Anthony Hernandez is interviewing Excelencia in Education CEO and co-founder Deborah Santiago about Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) for an upcoming webinar, on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. (Central time).

Hernandez is a doctoral student in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Policy Studies, and a project assistant for the Center for Research on College to Workforce Transitions (CCWT), which is hosting the event.

During the webinar, which is titled “Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs): Improving Academic Outcomes and Successful Workforce Transitions,” Hernadez will talk with Santiago about Latino student achievement, research on educational practices and advancing institutional practices, creating a national network of stakeholders, Latino student transitions to the workforce, and policy and funding priorities.
