The UW–Madison School of Education’s MERIT Library has been recognized as one of the university’s top study spots.

The distinction comes from Daniel Sendelbach, who spent the final semester of his senior year seeking out every possible place to study on campus. By the end of his quest, he cataloged more than 200 study spots and published his findings — along with commentary about each location — on a website.
The Wisconsin State Journal recently highlighted Sendelbach’s ambitious project. Now a software engineer in Madison, he still occasionally receives emails from students.
On his website, Sendelbach describes the MERIT Library, located on the third floor of the Teacher Education building (225 N. Mills St.), as a “surprisingly nice chill library.” He told the Wisconsin State Journal he appreciates its “beanbags, large windows, and plants.”
