UW–Madison Professor Chris Walker, the School of Education’s Dance Department, and the university’s Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI) present “Moonshine 2021” on Friday, Feb. 26.
“Moonshine” is a traditional performance gathering in celebration of Black History Month featuring dance, spoken word, and experimental contemporary performance.
This year’s virtual event will feature performances by First Wave Scholars, the First Wave Touring Ensemble, and “Take This River” — a work by Mark Hairston, an assistant professor with the School’s Department of Theatre and Drama, and performed by James Gavins and Kooy Buie.
“Moonshine” is free and open to the public, and will stream live on YouTube at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, 26.
