UW–Madison’s Amidei wins Jeff Award for costume design


UW–Madison’s Aly Amidei is the recipient of an Equity Jeff Award for Best Costume Design for her work on Buffalo Theatre Ensemble’s “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberly.”

The Jeff Awards have been honoring outstanding theatre artists annually since it was established in 1968. With approximately 55 members representing a wide variety of backgrounds in theatre, the Jeff Awards is committed to celebrating the vitality of Chicago-area theatre by recognizing excellence through its recommendations, awards, and honors.

Amidei, an assistant professor in the School of Education’s Department of Theatre and Drama, shared there were other UW–Madison connections within this Buffalo Theatre Ensemble production. Jessica Kuehnau Wardell, the set designer, earned her undergraduate degree from the Department of Theatre and Drama in 1998 and was also nominated for a Jeff Award. In addition, the cast of the show featured Daniel Millhouse, who earned his master’s degree from UW–Madison in 2015.
