UW–Madison’s Scheer is featured on WORT’s ‘The 8 O’Clock Buzz’

UW–Madison’s Elaine Scheer, a professor in the School of Education’s Art Department, was featured on WORT-FM’s “The 8 O’Clock Buzz” recently in a segment that is titled, “Watercolors by the ‘Gram.”

Watercolor painting by Elaine Scheer

In the segment, host Andy Moore picks Scheer’s brain about her paintings, the experiences behind them, and why she chose Instagram as a platform for sharing her work.

A preview of the segment notes: “Scheer paints watercolors that blend single original portraits with narratives of the sublime and the down-to-earth, from the front seat of a vintage car to Disneyland’s Matterhorn. Scheer dishes up these bites of her past via Instagram, accompanied by sometimes cheeky, always thought-provoking captions and hashtags.”

“For me, it’s kind of like putting out my diary, and it’s very visual,” says Scheer about her use of Instagram.
